my life in stitches

i don’t have any more sense than to show you the poor results of my edging efforts today. (it’s another piece for my dinner party series.) tomorrow will undoubtedly be dedicated to stitch removal and search for that ancient instructional book of stitches.

i love it. happens to me all the time. i just go over it a few times! ha!… sometimes it helps to roll the edge over first.

jude-i went to bed feeling rather dejected and discouraged, like i’d forgotten everything i ever, ever did. (it has been a l-o-n-g time since i picked up needle and thread.) woke up this morning thinking, “shoot. i’ll just leave it. incorporate it into the piece.” it’s a plate about the play steel magnolias - i played m’lynn in 2006 - and, as luck would have it, these awkward, clumsy stitches are right at annelle’s spot, which somehow, in the clearing of morning, seems appropriate.
